Lander Cairn XL Review-Best lantern for a roof top tent

Lander Cairn XL Light

I’ve been a roof top tent camper for a couple of years now and as a gear junkie, I’ve tried out a lot of different options for lighting it. Everything from cheap Amazon specials to more expensive options. I’ve used LED light strips, lanterns, and more.

However, once I tried out the Lander Cairn XL, I stopped searching. This light has a lot of really premium features that make it a great option for something like a roof top tent and Overlanding. The light is dimmable, you can change the color or the light, and most impressively, you can set a perimeter with your smart phone that senses when you get close to the tent and turns on the light.

Featuring a super bright 350 lumens, it will easily light up a large roof top tent. It’s rechargeable so you don’t have to worry about swapping batteries or keeping extras in your set up. Just keep it topped off before you leave and it will last for hours. I’ve used it for multiple days at a time before needing a charge.

With the free available app, you can do things like changing the dimming, color, and more from your phone without leaving the camp fire. When my kids go to bed earlier than me, I can turn off or down the light when they yell at me that they’re ready for bed. As I mentioned earlier, when I’m solo, I can just walk towards the tent and as I get close, the light turns on for convenience. It’s really awesome.

If you want to see it in action, check out the video review below! I unbox it and show you just how bright it is and all the features.
